Changing forms, from solo to band project and back, one thing has been constant for shubil. That one thing is change. On a path that has resulted in the release of an EP, an album and a handful of singles, Timothy Vanvaeck decided that it was time to return to the original idea of raw, heartfelt electronica.
Looking at his peers from Elula and The Bear, Rich Dad, Gobi Desert Collective, Jennifur and others, the pace at which shubil was releasing music just didn't feel satisfying. Thus began the start of a new album cycle as a solo project.
Over the years, plenty of demos were written. The experiences, good and bad, which Timothy encountered contributed to the overall feel of the new direction these songs went in. Overall, you can say the self titled album is a celebration of taking a leap of faith, and at the same time a homecoming to a genre that was aimed for all these years ago.
